What is the Importance of a Site Visit
Before a Hot Tub or Swim Spa Install?

A site visit is crucial for a successful hot tub or swim spa installation. By conducting a thorough site visit, we can identify potential challenges beforehand, preventing delays and ensuring a smooth installation process. It allows us to assess various factors that can impact the installation process, such as:

  • Ground Conditions: Ensuring the ground or decking is suitable to support the weight of the hot tub or swim spa.

  • Access: Determining the best way to transport and position the unit, considering factors like gates, driveways, and stairs. It is possible that we may decide on a crane or hi-ab to get your new spa installed.

  • Electrical Requirements: During installation we require access to a standard 13amp plug socket accessible from the installation site with an extension lead. The power supply to your hot tub can vary from model to model - we will provide you with necessary electrical requirements for your specific product when purchasing, and should you need an electrician we can recommend one to you. Having electrics sorted prior to the site visit is ideal, as we can notify you of any changes that may be required.

  • Garden Hose Access: Necessary for filling the hot tub or swim spa after installation and required for all future draining and refilling of the spa.

  • Space Limitations: We assess the available space to ensure the chosen model is the right fit for your area. Hot tubs need a metre on all sides when installed, plus space for the cover lifter to open if required. Swim Spas need a metre on all sides when installed, plus space for a cover lifter to open on both short sides if wanted. But when installing them, the more space available to have it installed the better.

Can Changes Made After a Site Visit
Significantly Impact the Installation Process?

Yes, changes to the space or garden made after a site visit can negatively impact the installation process and can create compounding issues. Below are a few reasons why:

Logistics: Our spa installation team plans the job based on the information gathered during the site visit. Changes to the location, access, or ground conditions can disrupt the carefully planned logistics. This is especially important when dealing with installing hot tubs or swim spas in new builds or garden rooms. We need room to install and new unexpected obstacles seriously impede the job.

Equipment: Equipment such as cranes or specialised tools like lift bags or pipes, might be required based on the initial assessment. Changes could necessitate different equipment, leading to delays or additional costs.

Labour: The installation team is prepared with the necessary personnel based on the original plan. Changes could require additional workers or specialised skills, impacting your timeline and cost.

Safety: Alterations to the plan might compromise safety measures, increasing risks for both the installation team and the homeowner.

To avoid delays and disruptions, ensure a smooth installation, and avoid potential complications, it's absolutely essential to maintain the original plan as closely as possible. If a new building, wall, or changes to an existing building are made after the point that our team surveys- please, please, please write or call us to tell us of the changes!

What Happens the Day
of the Hot Tub or
Swim Spa Installation?

To ensure the fastest and easiest delivery, the most helpful thing for a customer to do would be ensuring a clear roadway for our truck and spa trailer. Asking neighbours to keep cars clear on arrival is also helpful. Clearing the drive and path to the final location for the hot tub or swim spa is really beneficial. All of these points are especially helpful if a crane or hi-ab is required.

If electrics aren't set up by the day of install the spa cannot be commissioned. There is nothing else that the customer has to worry about during the install aside from being present for the final commissioning and beginner lesson on basic cleaning and operation. Commissioning can also be scheduled another day.

What Happens After the Hot Tub
or Swim Spa is Installed?

Post-installation we fill up the hot tub or swim spa. While this is happening we usually commission the spa. This process includes showing the customer or relevant interested parties how to use the hot tub or swim spa, running through chemical basics, and how to begin caring for the spa. If water pressure is particularly low and will take hours to fill or the customer must get back to work, we will come back to commission the spa at the customer’s convenience. During the commissioning, the customer receives a pack of starter chemicals as well as a Quick Start Guide which includes the basics of chemicals, care, and controls gone over by our technician. If you are missing any important information, you can find hard copies of everything (spa manuals, swim spa aqua-aerobics guides, massage wellness guides, & quick start info) in our Owner's Hub portal. Contact us if you haven't received the password via email.
